On the contrary, self-awareness is a feature (NOT a bug), and "calling it" quickly when the lid doesn't fit the pot can actually serve a more productive narrative vs. trying to tough it out and having the fit devolve further -- this can diminish one's confidence and yield poor references because you're likely not going to be your best in a job that you know is a bad fit.
